Paul Collins and Maura Cook have been serving as mission partners in Ahuachapan, El Salvador, since December 2012. They live and work in Ahuachapan with their three children: two daughters, Scout (aged 7) and Assisi (5) and a son, Saffi (3). They work as teachers in a nursery school and also teach English classes to adults. When Scout and Assisi visited their family in Scotland last Christmas they met with JMA in London and told them what it’s like living overseas with mission partner parents.
They liked going to the beach on Easter Day. The sea is warmer than in England. At school they learn lots of Spanish words from the other children. They like eating lots of ice cream because it’s so hot and playing in their garden. What they didn’t like was the loud dog that lives on their street and the homework they get as it is in Spanish and hard to understand. Scout didn’t like having to move house because she missed her old house and they have to do lots of travelling. More about their lives next month.
