Change Someone's Life with a Loan

Lendwithcare brings together entre-preneurs in developing countries with people with the power to help them - people like you and me.  Run by one of the world's leading aid and development organisations, CARE International, Lendwithcare is a revolutionary way for you to help people in the developing world to transform their lives.

It starts with an idea - whether it's opening a market stall, or perhaps a small tailoring business, or diversifying the crops they grow, or buying more animals, people across the developing world are bursting with business ideas – all they need is a helping hand to get started.  A loan of just £15 from you, together with loans from other individuals and organisations, is the helping hand.

The entrepreneur requests a loan - entrepreneurs approach a local Microfinance Institution (MFI) that is a Lendwithcare partner and, if their ideas show promise, they get the go-ahead for the loan they need to get their business going.  (Microfinance refers to financial services for poor and low income clients).

You lend to an entrepreneur - the MFI uploads the entrepreneur’s profile to Lendwithcare.  You can see these in the Entrepreneurs section of the Lendwithcare website and you can choose which promising business ideas you’d like to support.

The entrepreneur’s business grows - entrepreneur profiles are updated so you can see how their business is transforming their lives.

Your loan is repaid - the entrepreneur pays back their loan in instalments to the MFI, which transfers these repayments to CARE International.  The repayment is then credited back to your Lendwithcare account ready for you to choose to support someone else’s idea. It’s as simple as that!

You decide what happens next - when your loan is repaid you can withdraw it if you wish.  You can also donate it to CARE International, or you can make another loan, helping more entrepreneurs turn their ideas and hopes for a better future into reality.

My interest in Lendwithcare started when I received a £15 gift voucher.  As a result I have been supporting entrepreneurs in many countries over several years.  Many have now paid back in full the money they were lent and are now able to better support their families with education for their children and livelihoods for family members.  I have supported women and men in many countries including Ecuador, Pakistan, Vietnam, the Zambia, Malawi and Cambodia.  100% of your loan goes to the entrepreneurs who need your help.  Loans requested run from a few hundred to a few thousand pounds.  Many lenders may be needed to complete a request but when fully funded the entrepreneurs set up their business and start repaying the loans.  What I like about the Lendwithcare scheme is being able to follow named individual’s and groups’ progress and to know that their lives have been changed by my making microloans.  Please consider helping with this work – for more info see lendwithcare.org.  40,712 lenders (to date) are changing lives with small loans.
