A
welcome from our minister, Rev Catherine Campbell Hyde
It's
good to be able to introduce you to our church and tell you a little
bit about us. There's a short account of our history on our home
page and currently we are a membership of 165 with a diversity of
different backgrounds and occupations. We meet twice on Sundays
in
worship and these services are the focal points of each week.
As you can see from our calendar, services are held during the week too
but the life of the church extends far beyond formal acts of worship.
Our members come together in a variety of activities, in which
friendship and fellowship are shared, news of our experiences is shared
and the week's events are discussed. Most of all, we support one
another in times of sorrow or difficulty and try to share and spread
joy, humour and happiness too.
We have a table tennis group, an art group and two women's groups
- all these meet on church premises and non-members are very
welcome. There are also 'house groups' which meet in members'
homes and discuss topics of interest over tea and cake. Our
building is also used extensively by local groups, which include
those studying German and French, dancing classes and choir practices.
Members of our church are also active in many voluntary activities in
the town. Many of them are volunteers at the Lyttelton Well in
Church Street, Malvern - this is an ecumenical activity in which the
Malvern churches support a coffee shop, book shop and counselling
service - and we all participate in the work and worship of
'Churches Together in Malvern'.
